Fairplay orders four new Damen tugs for fleet renewal

Fleet expansion with sustainability in mind – four next-gen tugs to join FAIRPLAY TOWAGE Group.

We are proud to announce a major milestone in our fleet renewal journey: FAIRPLAY TOWAGE Group has signed contracts with Damen Shipyards Group for the delivery of four new tugs. Three of these vessels – one RSD Tug 2513 and two ASD Tugs 2312 – will be delivered by the end of this year. A second RSD Tug 2513 will follow in early 2026.

One of the new tugs, commissioned by Louis Meyer Neue Schleppdampfschiffsreederei, will enter into a long-term bareboat charter with FAIRPLAY in Germany.

These modern vessels come with advanced features like LNG compatibility, FiFi-1 firefighting systems, and IMO Tier III compliance – a clear commitment to more sustainable operations. Built at Damen’s shipyards in China and Vietnam, the tugs will be delivered via low-emission heavy-lift transport and benefit from aftersales support by Damen Services Germany in Hamburg.

„This investment is a strong statement about the future of FAIRPLAY TOWAGE Group,” says Managing Director Philip Harmstorf. “We aim to serve our clients safer, cleaner and more efficiently – powered by innovative and reliable vessels.“
