The new tug will be based in Puttgarden and will play an essential role in ensuring safety and support in the Baltic Sea.
From May 1, 2025, the FAIRPLAY-31 will be chartered in as an emergency tug for the new position. For the first 4 weeks, she will be replaced by an equivalent tug as she is still on another charter.
Fairplay Reederei already provides the important emergency tugs “Nordic” in the North Sea, “Baltic” in the Baltic Sea and the emergency tug “FAIRPLAY-35” on the Elbe. Emergency tugs are of crucial importance for maritime safety on our coasts, as they can react quickly in an emergency to prevent accidents, minimize environmental damage and ensure the flow of traffic in maritime areas. Hiring companies with extensive experience is essential to ensure that competent and reliable assistance is available in an emergency.
Fairplay Reederei’s crews receive comprehensive training, and the company is considered a pioneer in the education and training of its employees. Through regular theoretical and practical training, including realistic simulations, Fairplay ensures that the teams can operate at the highest level at all times. These comprehensive training measures enable reliable emergency preparedness and contribute to safety at sea.
Special thanks go to the Havariekommando for the trust they have placed in us and the ongoing cooperation. In conjunction with the experienced TAT teams and the accumulated expertise from over 30 years of emergency tug experience, this newly acquired charter is a further milestone in the successful cooperation between the waterways and shipping authorities, the Central Command for Maritime Emergencies and the Fairplay Group.
Fairplay Reederei would like to thank the Waterways and Shipping Authority for its trust and looks forward to a successful collaboration for the benefit of the shipping community.
