A young Fairplay ambassador inspires his class

On April 10, Sjoerd van Driel, the eight-year-old son of a crew member of the FAIRPLAY-67, gave an impressive presentation about tugboats and the work at Fairplay – and with great success. Together with his friend Thijs, he presented exciting insights into the world of shipping to the 5th grade.

Sjoerd had already prepared intensively for his presentation in advance: He collected pictures, visited FAIRPLAY-93 with his father Wilko and, among other things, took pictures of the impressive engine room – his personal highlight. In addition, Fairplay provided him with further images and small gifts for his classmates: stickers, pens, folders, tattoos and peppermint sweets – the surprise was very well received by the class.

The presentation itself was a complete success: the children were enthusiastic, asked lots of questions and showed great interest in the topic. The teacher was also impressed and gave the presentation an excellent 9 out of 10 points. In her feedback, she wrote that everyone had learned something new – great praise for the young speakers.

Fairplay is delighted with this commitment and is proud of Sjoerd and Thijs. It’s great to see how our work inspires the next generation. Congratulations on this great achievement!
