Together, we aim to ensure energy security and decarbonization through large-scale investments, advanced technologies and green infrastructure. Wilhelmshaven is set to become a key energy hub for Europe.
Thanks to its coastal location, pipeline access, and existing energy infrastructure, the region offers ideal conditions for importing, storing and distributing alternative energy sources such as hydrogen. The Energy Hub is not just a gateway – it is a center of competence for energy innovation.
FAIRPLAY contributes valuable maritime know-how – in port logistics, infrastructure and sustainable energy transport. But for this transformation to succeed, further political support is crucial. Only then can Wilhelmshaven emerge as a global frontrunner in hydrogen, port-based power and carbon management.
