On June 19, 2025, it was time to set sail for the Apprentice Regatta for the third time! The German Maritime Museum (DSM) in Bremerhaven was once again transformed into a lively event location where trainees from the maritime industry gave interested school students an insight into their professions – hands-on, interactive and with a great deal of commitment.
“Graduated – what now?” This was precisely the question at the heart of the event. The aim was to show young people looking for an apprenticeship exciting prospects in the maritime industry – in a fun and entertaining way.
We were also there again this year! Our contribution: a hands-on station on the topic of “survival suits” – complemented by our popular Nordic-style photo wall. The task for the students: To put on a survival suit in as little time as possible – not so easy, as it soon turned out! Afterwards, they were able to have their photos taken in front of the photo wall in their equipment.
Our trainees expertly and enthusiastically explained the background to rescue and survival suits and were available to answer questions. Visitors were not only able to actively participate, but also learn a lot of interesting facts about safety at sea and everyday working life.
An all-round successful day with lots of exchanges, exciting impressions and new perspectives – we look forward to seeing you there!
