Harbour Tugboat Assistance
With a versatile fleet of tugs with a wide variety of bollard pulls and drive systems (e.g. Schottel or Voith), we support seagoing vessels in 24 European ports, including the Elbe ports of Hamburg, Wedel, Stade and Brunsbüttel. In the Baltic Sea ports these are Rostock, Wismar, Stralsund, Wolgast, Mukran/Sassnitz and
in the Benelux ports of Rotterdam, Moerdijk/Dordrecht, Antwerp, Terneuzen, Ghent and Vlissingen.
In the Polish ports of Szczecin, Police, Swinoujscie and Gdynia, Fairplay also assists with arrivals and departures to and from the port on a 24/7 basis.

Offshore Services
With the oil and gas industry and the renewable energies sector as an anchor for our offshore activities, we are making an important contribution to Europe’s energy supply in various projects. FAIRPLAY is and remains our motto, even on the high seas. Whether for several days, several weeks or even months, our experienced crews ensure the successful completion of even the most challenging offshore assignments. We can reliably move oil drilling platforms for you, tow your docks and even lifting platforms for offshore wind energy.

Coastal Protection
FAIRPLAY is a founding member of the Coast Protection group which was set up in September 2001 in Germany. Currently, the Coast Protection division provides the federal government with the emergency tug „NORDIC“ (201 tons bollard pull, stationed in the German Bight) in the North Sea and the emergency tug „BALTIC“ (127 tons bollard pull, stationed in the Warnemünde region) in the Baltic Sea, as well as the „FAIRPLAY-35“ (104 tons bollard pull, stationed in the Elbe estuary). Additionally, it supplies the oil spill response vessels „KIEL“ (stationed in Kiel), „VILM“ (stationed in Rostock), „KNECHTSAND“ (stationed in Cuxhaven), „WESTENSEE“ (stationed in Bremerhaven), and „MPOSS“ (stationed in Hamburg).

Coastal Towage
In addition to assisting seagoing vessels in ports, we are also very active in the coastal towage segment. These are tows of generally non-powered vessels such as pontoons or even entire ship sections from A to B.
Many of our tugs are specially equipped for this type of service.

Assistance for LNG Terminals
As the FAIRPLAY TOWAGE Group, we support demanding LNG projects and contribute to Europe’s energy independence. Our trained experts and modern tugboats ensure safe mooring at LNG terminals in Germany and Poland.
Through long-term contracts at floating LNG terminals in Brunsbüttel, Stade, and Wilhelmshaven, we play a vital role in Germany’s LNG logistics, ensuring secure supply for millions of households. This project, launched on January 1, 2024, highlights FAIRPLAY’s commitment to quality, innovation, and transformation.

Salvage
Safety along the German coast: we are on site in no time at all. Whether it’s to bring an unmaneuverable ship to a safe harbor or to help the casualties after a collision. We also fight fires on ships at sea with our very powerful fire-fighting equipment on board our tugs.

As a renowned Hamburg shipyard, Theodor Buschmann Werft has been dedicated to the diverse tasks in the maritime world since 1882. What the Hamburg shipbuilder Johann Thomas Theodor Buschmann successfully started back then is continued today with unbridled passion and an extended range of services. Distinctive expertise and the traditionally high quality standards convince customers from new shipbuilding to conversions and repairs to steel and hydraulic engineering.
